Hi there! I’m a freelance health writer and health communications specialist currently consulting for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. I’m a Georgia bulldawg through and through — I have a masters degree in health and medical journalism and bachelors degrees in journalism and sociology, all from the University of Georgia. I started out pursuing journalism so I could work at Rolling Stone (who doesn’t?), but after a while I realized that public health is really where my heart lies. I’m interested in anything that will encourage us to become a healthier, happier world. My areas of expertise are infectious disease, global health and emergency preparedness.
